Outages are not a rarity anymore these days. Over the past year alone, we have seen big-name providers like AWS, Azure and Cloudflare stumble, and the trend is not reversing. If you, like many other organisations, consolidate onto a handful of cloud, SaaS and network platforms, the upside in speed and scale comes with a downside in concentrated risk, and that risk does not stop at those services being unavailable. Your own systems and data can be hit too, whether through ransomware, a botched deployment, a misconfiguration, or the kind of cascading infrastructure failure that brought Heathrow to a standstill in March 2025. So the real question is not how you eliminate outages, but how quickly you recover when they happen, and whether you can defend that recovery plan with numbers rather than slogans.
